Chemical Glycobiology Laboratory

The Capicciotti Lab’s interdisciplinary research uses organic chemistry to answer complex biological questions about carbohydrates. We are interested in elucidating the role of glycans in health and disease by studying their interactions with proteins and how they function in cells. We use an interdisciplinary approach that pairs synthetic carbohydrate chemistry and chemo-enzymatic glycan synthesis with biochemistry and cell biology.
